About Us

Bright Mailbox was born from my personal experience with missed connections and untold stories.

My grandfather, a WWII veteran, Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient, a prison guard at the Nuremburg War Trials, lived a fantastic life and moved to a Veterans Home at age 90.

Living states away, I promised myself to send him weekly postcards. It seemed simple – I had the time, money, and motivation, and he would love to hear from me.

But life, family, and career got in the way. Three years passed, and I sent zero postcards. In those same years, I sent thousands of emails, text messages and social media posts to people far, far less important to me than my father’s father, but not a single message to my grandfather.

When my grandfather passed, I was overwhelmed with regret for the stories left unshared and the joy I could have brought through those simple, inexpensive mailings.
